I live in beautiful Scotland with my hubby and two eccentric cats (aren’t they all?), and write historical fiction and romantic suspense. My writing doesn’t fit into a specific box. Tricky to market, but it makes plotting all the more intriguing.
A hobby historian, I love Scottish history, particularly medieval and Jacobite times; English medieval and Tudor history; and the influence of the Normans over large parts of Europe during the Middle Ages.
I love exploring the regions I write about – I visited Gloucestershire and South Wales, Normandy and of course the Lowlands and Highlands of Scotland. Highland Arms is set on the shores of Loch Linnhe – one of my favourite spots in the north-west. If you click the Flickr ‘Places of Research‘ link to the right you’ll find photos of stunning landscapes and fascinating architecture. Then you’ll understand why I tell stories from these glorious places.
I’m a member of the Historical Novel Society, the Romantic Novelists’ Association and Celtic Hearts Romance Writers.
